Green Monster Rice Pack Bait 5

Green Monster Rice Pack Bait 5 is a really bright green carp pack bait recipe. It packs well and of course you can use any flavor you might prefer in its place. It smells a lot like butterscotch in my opinion.

This is an image of Green Monster rice pack bait.

The Green Monster Rice Pack Bait 5 rice-based pack bait is, as you can see, very bright green. This recipe is similar to other rice pack baits in its preparation. It is very easy to use and will last about a week on average. You might be able to get a little longer out of it if you add an egg if it dries out too much and mix that in. We used this bait the other day and found that it smells really nice and packs very well. It is easy to cast and breaks down fast. This is one of those baits that can be very good when the carp want it, or it might be a bust. There really isn’t any middle ground here. Give it a shot and let us know how it did for you by rating it or discussing it in the forum for others to see. Thank you.

Servings 2.2 Gallons

  • 1 Bucket with lid (Preferably a 5-gallon bucket.)
  • 1 Towel (To dry your hands.)

  • 28 oz. 1 box of Instant Rice, 28. oz. (Must be instant rice for this.)
  • 1 Cup Kosher Salt (Non-iodized.)
  • 1 Cup Sugar (Regular or powdered is fine.)
  • 20 oz. Soda, of your choice (Mountain Dew is used here.)
  • 2 oz. Liquid Flavor (Green Monster by R and W was used here. You can use any butterscotch flavoring as well with green food coloring.)

  • Pour the 28 oz. of rice in the bucket.
  • Pour in the cups of salt and sugar and mix the dry parts together.
  • Add the 20-ounce soda of choice to the dry stuff in the bucket and mix very well.
  • Add the 2 or 3 ounces of flavor and mix that in as well. It will appear very wet, but that's ok.
  • Place the lid on the bucket and let it sit for about 1 day but come in and fluff the bait every couple of hours or so.
  • After a day has passed, you are ready to use the bait. Tight Lines!

This is a very nice rice-based pack bait recipe with a very bright green color.  It will last about a week or so before you have to toss it, maybe a little longer if you are lucky.
I used this bait at Foster's pay lake on April 23rd, 2023 from 10am till 5pm and caught zero fish.  I don't think it was the bait though.  I noticed very few fish caught that day.  The weather was around 75 degrees and mostly sunny following a much cooler night.  I think the fish were just not hitting that day.  The bait smelled very good and packed great.
