Final mixed bait.

Thank you to Patrick Neese for this wonderful quick old fashioned oats carp recipe. I have tried this bait a time or two with solid results. It’s fairly simple to make and requires a very short setup time. It does seem to pack well and breaks readily due to the use of the syrup binder. You can use any liquid flavor you might like, but for this example we used an R&W liquid flavor called Hot Big D’s Butternut. This bait will catch a good many carp and will last a while, but if you find it getting a tad too dry, just add a little more corn syrup or maybe a dab of water. Because of the syrup binder, it does tend to break well in the water and makes it nice for not interfering with setting the hook.

Here are the ingredients for this recipe and the instructions.
